I always go open with mine but that's just me. If I'm gonna put any details at all into a pit, I wanna see what I paid for……..plus……it's fun to do and why not show it all off a little.
I think the tabs get adhered to the sides. I've never had the benefit of having the tabs. This kit sounds more and more like it's gonna be in my stash soon

All done. I still haven't decided on the canopy open or closed so for now it's not glued.

With everything open, I like it closed... with everything closed, I like it open!
Lol. It's too bad with the exchangeable cowlings and the drop tank being able to be on or off, they couldn't give you the same option with the canopy. Think I'm going closed. The way it opens to the side I don't like and you can't see inside that well anyway.

I've gotta say, that is one sharp looking 109 @Jantk14 . Camo is looking good and details are definitely a PLUS with this kit and you've got 'em all on display nicely. What I really like about this kit after watching your build is how solidly the whole thing builds up with the way Tamiya has engineered it. A really good turnout bub.

Very nice work. Looks fantastic!

That's weird they didn't have anything to attach the canopy to. The Tamiya 109E-4 I'm building had tabs on the canopy and slots inside the rail to fix them to. Though I didn't dress up the cockpit so I sealed it up.

Wow!!! Just a magnificent build. Your paint job and cammo came off perfectly. I saw back on your earlier posts about your problem with splattering with the cammo on the sides of the fuselage but now with all the weathering in place the cammo looks perfect; like a well seasoned war bird!!!! Your prop nose cone is outstanding. The canopy and cowling is awesome. Very well done. I am sure you will be very proud of this one!!.
Kudos
Best
