Made a good start on this kit. Hobby Boss can be hit or miss, but there Bf-109 tooling from 2013 is really good for the price: $25 at my local model shop. Good detail, not quite Tamiya fit but not bad. This is the latest release in a scheme I have always wanted to do. I used a Quinta Studios cockpit detail set and the NEW MRP Aqua colors.

Needs a little filling and sanding before I prime. I don't want to ruin the rivets so I will have to be precise.

It is this kit

Some updates. I am about to apply the leopard print camo. I did an experiment on my paint mule that showed me what NOT to do (sticky tack is too deep and there is too much over spray

I have made similar camouflage stencils. I don't trust my freehand and I like the effect. I made small tape rolls to affix and use as standoffs. I pressed them down to the gap I wanted. As they flattened they maintained that gap.

...every single rivet! Amazing.
I can't take credit for that. the Hobby Boss kit comes this way. It is not what you expect from a ~$25 HobbyBoss kit. The original tooling is from 2013 and all the variations are fully riveted. a bit of a hidden gem

Outstanding! I really enjoyed this kit too - great value I think. I am building my second one. Your camo looks excellent, color contrast is just right.
Thank you for the kind words. One thing I like about these MRP Aqua paints is the color accuracy is better than most other water based acrylics. So I was able to use their colors straight out of the bottle.
