Some of you lot might have seen me skulking around the Si-Fi section, but after a tough few week in my personal life, and blankly staring at a sea of starfleet white....................
Its time to re kindle the painting bug.
I picked the Spitty, as my granded just bought me the COOLEST faky Dremel kit, and its sublime for modelling. And it was gramps that is partly to blame for my love of aircraft (i got the space thing from dad
)
Captain Carstairs Kirk. I had to name him, i tend to talk to all my kits as they progress.
Really nice detail inside caught me off guard a little, and made me sure dropping the spaceships for a little while was the right thing to do.
Insert your own joke here.
A coat of olive, over grey primer, just to give everything something to stick to.
Preshade
detail is sublime compared to all that trek nonsense!
Preshaded tub frame
thin layer over the top, just to bind it all together
A smidge of dry brush, all the strokes were facing down towards the belly, and quite "stabbed" into the surface as if to show the wear of getting in and dropping tools etc.
Captain Kirk, sitting resplendent in the leather clad chair i hand painted, only to find he totally obscures the leather cushion
I find the detail on the face beyond belief. If both excites me, and terrifies me!
Anyway, thats 1 afternoons work.
More coming soon!
