Sprue Cutter Choices ????

Is there a difference between the Xuron Sprue Cutters 2175 and the Xuron 2175 with a letter after the 2175 ?

Yes, the 2175 denotes their "Professional" series.

Just the 2175 is more of an arts and craft set of cutters, designed more for cutting floral wire and such

2175B is designed for cutting railroad track,

2175ET is the Sprue Cutters, sometimes called Long Nosed Sprue Cutters

2175SH is the same as the plain 2175, just has shorter handles.

Thanks for clarifying. I may go with the Tamiya to start and then work my way up to the Xuron. I would like to update my airbrush system before anything else more expensive. Just picked up a ten peice file set for $5 off ebay.

Do they both cut the same things. Yes! ;)

Nope they don't. I don't care if I cut metal with cheapy cutters. BUT! I killed my Xurons by trying to clip STEEL wire I had replaced on a hydraulic piston with and forgot... :'( Oooooh babadbaaaad. :'( So I ran out and bought a new set of Xuron. 8) I will never waste money on cheapy cutters again because Xuron are so much better. That's saying a lot about a product when you're as cheap and stingey as me. ;) ;D
