Hi Barley, photos as promised and one of the colors I'm going with on Snowberry.I was delighted by the level of detail across the different class iterations.
... though a bit disappointed at the resolution of the drawings in the digital version.
Is it better in print?

Thanks!Hi Barley, photos as promised and one of the colors I'm going with on Snowberry.
VERY much how it was in real life very good film glad you are enjoying it B/BThanks!
Clearly the printed version is a much higher resolution. My guess is the Kindle version has scanned images of the printed ones, lower res for a manageable file size.
That colour scheme is awesome!
Oh, I'm 3/4 the way through 'The Cruel Sea'... Just thought you and @BOATMAN would like to know.
Very much enjoying... Especially the different shots aboard and in rough seas!
Nice. My wife just told me the other night when she was coming home from work she saw a sports car that looked sharp so she sped up to see what it was. It was a McLaren. The guy driving it panicked when she came up on him and changed lanes real quick, turned out to be a doc she works with in cath lab. She texted him he needs to drive faster! Haha.Since the other thread was so unceremoniously deleted for whatever reason, time to start anew!
Will start it off with a few I have gotten over the last couple of weeks:

It's really up to you but when I did winter camo, I weathered it first then added the snow and ice. PanthermanI got the tank bug. This one came today. Looking forward to doing a winter camo. It's a new challenge. This will be my second Sherman. My first ever tank build was a Sherman easy eight that I built during Covid. One question about weathering this. Since it's in the snow covered Ardennes in December, do I dirty it up or just cover it with snow, or both?View attachment 188792
Yes, and according to Mr Googl,up to you
So others would know more about it, but I think you might be able to do any combination and still be historically correct! The offensive began with heavy fog, snow, and rain, which cleared around December 23, allowing for clearer, colder weather with better visibility for air support.
I have found the best and cheapest snow is white tile grout. PanthermanCool subject matter.
The winter camo was a paint / wash. I would paint the OD green and then the white wash. Weather away some of the white. Apply dirt and mud over that. I would add some snow effects on top of that if I were to mount it on a diorama base with snow on the ground, there are a few products out there for that.
You have so many options to go with, have fun with whatever way you choose.
glad you are enjoying it B/B

For accuracy: it only started snowing in the Ardennes on 29 December 1944Since it's in the snow covered Ardennes in December
I'd say that depends a lot on whether you want to show the tank as freshly whitewashed or as having been in combat for a while. For a tank that's recently been snow-camouflaged, dirty up the undersides and show the paint as nicely white all over — though I would recommend brush-painting it over olive drab, since that's what the troops usually did in the field. If it's to be a bit longer ago that the tank was painted, have some of the OD poke through the whitewash in places where it would likely wear off (along edges and where the crew moves over the tank, mainly) plus a good deal more dirt on the lower parts.do I dirty it up or just cover it with snow, or both?
After coming out of shock from the prices for it on eBay, I began to shake after seeing the four-piece hull......dunno, have seen it in stores, but will research first... If I do build, it won't be for quite a while!
Hahaha... Nope, wouldn't be abuilding that one... the 1:72 based on old Matchbox kit. After coming out of shock from the prices for it on eBay, I began to shake after seeing the four-piece hull...![]()
I have to agree, and although I fancy myself a decent amateur history buff, I had not heard of it until reading your post! Is it just me or do its looks hint at Spitfire?I think the D. 520 is one of the sleekest-looking planes from the Second World War, and in 1:72 I liked building the RS Models kit a few years ago.
I know next to nothing about WW2 aircraft, but my interest in North Africa led me to search for planes used by the various forces, including the French (Vichy and Free)....history buff,
The definition of short take-off and landing.this landed on the stoop.
Apparently applies to both the plane AND the pigeons! The definition of short take-off and landing.
Great kit, super-simple too, two sprues not counting clear.I needed some supplies so I had no choice but to get another kit. My second spitfire.
