SMA What's New In Your Stash?!?

The attachment has disappeared, so it's hard to tell what you're talking about :)

But that Vulcan kit is a rare find indeed these days … I now wish I had gotten one when they were new, but British vehicles weren't really my interest at the time :(

On another forum, it's pretty clear we'll be doing an old-school Italeri group build later this year, so I went looking for a Crusader to build for that:

It's one of the few old Italeri kits I never did build even one variant of, but now I have it I don't think I will build this particular kit — it's around fifty years old and everything inside is still in the plastic bag, so it would be heresy to build it IMHO. For that reason, it will go on the shelf with the other old models in my collection instead of in the pile of ones I do intend to build. That certainly also applies to the MP Models M-50 Sherman, which I had never seen in the flesh but that was too expensive for me when it was new anyway :)

Then I also got the notion to build another display base, for showing models or photographing them, and I also bought a set I've been meaning to for a while:

Even though I've been filing into drawers, so many aftermarket accessories come in packaging that self destruct, like blister packs, got these to sort and keep the parts together...and apart!

Hoping to stand them like CD cases, to easily label and browse.

They come flat packed, so I can just make them as required.

What are those called? They look very useful

I'm also interested in those clear "boxes", they do look useful. But I'm wondering about your drawer-setup. Care to share what you are using? My boxes of spare parts and doo-dads is in need of sorting and organizing.

@wjbrandel , as you are asking....

Haven't labeled these yet, but they fit side by side, standing up, in this old rolling storage unit drawer.
Labels will be: chains, ropes, hoses, cables, engine & grilles, antennas, anti slip plating, wire.

I'd looked at the 4x6 and 5x7 inch photo boxes, and the organizers that could hold them, and settled on these since I already had the drawers.

From Amazoony:
Yesland 60 Pack Clear Box for Greeting Cards, 6 x 4.75 x 1 Inch Rectangle Plastic Photo Storage Box Cases Fits A2 Size Cards Envelopes for Stationery Organizer, Small Business Supplies
They aren't nearly as sturdy as PM's photoboxes, but at CDN 45 cents each, they seemed to fit my needs. I recognize them as merchants often use similar boxes for chocolates and truffles.

I like that I can roll the repurposed 'cabinet' away, and it is plenty rugged enough to hold essentially a bunch of plastic stuff. You can see I still have a bunch to sort through. My system doesn't give instant access to a particular thing, but at least categories of things no longer get mixed up!

The Lysander? I've always liked that, but only ever built one, maybe ten years ago and never did finish it. And I own the 1:32 scale Matchbox one, but won't build it because it's going on fifty years old now. I'd like to see @Tommergun build his, though :)

I just acquired an Ikea Norden Gateleg table for my modeling. It has a row of drawers down the middle (three on each side) and I was thinking of moving special parts, decals and other found bits and bobs into the small but deep drawers, what are the dimension of these boxes and where do you get them from?

I also plan to add castors to the bottom of the table to make it more "portable."
