I have seen someone doing this. Using a Magic Floater to make a Model floating.

First attempt:

Probem is: The solenoid is pretty big, trying to get it fixed in the speeder. This will be not easy.

More to come, stay tuned.....

My progress. No detailing yet. I am building this one a little rushed because of a exhibition here next weekend. I really want do display the floating speeder.

Try a search on eba/google for " Magic floater". There you can find those devices.

Klick on the pic for a little video.

Awesome!
Looks like this speeder is going to come out more "levitational", then the one used during filming, right? ;D
This is going to be a show-stopper, excellent job!

Thank...

Please note.. in the video, the speeder sits on top of the solenoid. That gives about 4mm in height.

Iam currently working on the issue to implant the magnet into the speeder. That will lead to a levitational height of about 15mm between ground and Speeder underbelly, which is about 200mm (8") in "real world". So that would fit I suppose....

I`ll keep you informed. :)

Some progress... cut about 4mm from the cockpit and attached some 0,25mm.. sheet as cover.

Now ia need some more work and then primer.... I will not strip the old paint.

Just wanted to sand a little bit, then the cool used paintjob was showing up.

The speeder was overpainted before on Tatooine and is now getting used again.

I think I will add some pigments and this will be good to go, what do you think?

If you add in a little SFX to the speeder while it's
floating it will be even cooler! This is great great though
awesome job!

Cool approach to painting - even the original prepaint played to be useful. Great progress, buddy! :)

I added some Pigments... this little work makes a big difference I think.

This one needs to be finished for the Exhibition Saturday, I already ordered a new one for a superdetailingproject... ;)

Want to finish this one to show off...

She's looking pretty nice.
Figures need some washes/detailing to help them match the speeder better, though
