I have officially given up on the old F-4E kit. The resin tub ended up NOT fitting as I thought it would and it became far too much of a pain to try to modify.

Soooo, on to my next favorite fighter jet, the Eagle. :) This was added to the stash a couple months ago and it struck my fancy as I was staring at the pile of boxes.

Upon examination, the parts look well molded, virtually zero flash and nice details. Plus, what looks to be incredible exhausts for kits parts. Almost to after market levels. The cock pit details are great. Near perfect match to all the pics I have found. Ejection seat is nice. Shoulder harnesses not bad. Lap be...REALLY? They did not mold the lap belts! LOL

So I ordered the PE set from Eduard along with the remove before flight tags. So I have to wait for that stuff to get here from Czech to finish up the seats. But I can hold off on that for the moment. I got the cock pit together. Still some detail stuff to do. I did the screens green even though thats not really the color they are when they are off.

Next up is the front wheel well which builds onto the underside of the cock pit.

OK, so the PE stuff from Eduard finally got here today. I immediately set to pinging one piece off into never land and then dressing up the pilots seat...

While I was waiting for that, I did build up the plane itself. I put the pilots seat in.

The fit over all was VERY good. Minimum use of perfect plastic putty was needed. So next I will finish up the back seaters seat and then to the exhausts.

Made mucho progress. Mostly done. Just have to assemble the landing gear, finish up on the missiles and tanks, decals and attach that stuff and the little bits and bobs and she will be done.

This has been an absolutely great build. Love this kit!

Looking pretty good. Will have to keep an eye out for this one.

Annnnnnnnnd done! I have a couple little details like pitot covers and exhaust covers to make, but otherwise done.

I ended up making her dirtier than I originally intended, but I like how it turned out. My best build since getting back in. Hopefully you guys like her as well.

And I have to say, the kit was one of the best I have had the pleasure of building. The only real issue with it was that all of the exhaust actuator arms were not completely molded. Otherwise, it went together like a dream.
