Next on the bench is the Del Rio Wagon. This will be an Out of the Box build. I really like the lines on this car. Looking forward to this one.

I've seen this kit built up a few times and it builds up nicely. Great start on your engine with that prewired distributor. Is that a MADD distributor?

I made it from the distributor that came with the kit and some yellow wire.
Thanks for the compliment.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to make the wire looms so the wires aren't laying on the exhaust manifold.
Those are available in PE and sure make a difference in the overall look in routing those wires.

Curious. I have tried to drill out a kit distributor several times and fail miserably at it any secret tips

I'm curious how you did that too because when I did it it didn't look that good. Maybe you hollowed out the distributor and bundled all the wires together and stuck them all in the hole??

That's exactly how I did it. I hollowed out the distributor, filled it with CA glue, and stuffed the wires in.

That looks gorgeous! I love green.
Silly question perhaps but do you shoot the white over the whole car first then mask off for the green? Or mask the green area, shoot the white, then remask for the green? Just wondered how the green would sit over the gloss white as opposed to primer.

I always shoot the lighter color first, then mask it off and spray the darker color. In this case I sprayed the white and let it sit for a couple of hours, then removed the hood and masked off the rest, then sprayed the green.
It would be difficult to spray the white over the green. It would take several coats and it's a waste of paint.
Here is the car with the hood on it.

Nice..like green...my first vette was green..don't see many green cars these days..except the neon ones..

And here it is. I am very happy with this. After a little touch up she'll be ready for some clear coat.

I love all the 57 wagons, that color combo is perfect , As mjensen said im a real fan of green myself. It seems no matter who it was made by Ford Chevy Pontiac or Dodge they were all so cool in their own way. I have the 57 El Camino made into a gasser, mat black, injected 409 lookin mean as they come.
