Name of Build: Rebel Blockade Runner
Kit manufacturer: Blue Moon
Scale: 1/350
Description
This is a resin kit of the Rebel Blockade Runner first seen in the opening scene of Star Wars. Every single piece needed to be cleaned and washed, sanding and filling was a must, parts were replaced with brass and copper rod. Waste pipe was used inside the whole length of the ship to keep it rigid aswell as brass rod for the 'head'. The engines are lit using 12v Orange/Yellow Led's diffused by baking paper all powered from an internal 8v battery hidden inside the body. Also there is a hidden switch inside the front under the top turret. The painting was done using tamiya fine primer, then pre shade and humbrol enamels for the base coat. The different coloured panels were painted with Tamiya and vallejo paints. The weathering was done using artist oils and AK Interactive's pigments and streaking grime. This was certainly a labour of love but now complete is the pride and joy of my collection.
