Hello guys, i'm looking for a technique to make the non-skid texture on armored vehicles., been searching this forum as well as Youtube but no luck....

Thx for the help!

What scale are you working with? You might get away using a fine-grit sandpaper to replicate the non-skid material, especially in 1/35 or larger.

You could also use white glue and fine sand (beach sand, or aquarium sand), and then paint it, or apply the paint, then apply the sand or whatever particulate you decide to use, into the paint.

Hey Jeff,

Go to Home Depot, Kent, Canadian Tire, maybe even Walmart and pick up a can of Rust-Oleum Multicolour Texture paint in the spray can.

Just mask off what you don't want the non skid on, and spray away.

Comes in many colors (not that it matters), and gives you a pretty realistic anti-slip for armored vehicles

Thx for the great tips!

I taught about using the sand paper but might try the spray stuff 1st, might look more "Natural"
I'll keep you posted!

And btw, I think I spent about 3hrs on the ECH website, I saw a lot of stuff that i might need on there, very nice shop! I even preorded one of the rifle models you got coming in June :D

Aha....now I can put a face to the name.

They are nice kits, I have 2 or 3 of them here myself, the one at the show was one I built.

If there is anything you are looking for but don't see on my website, just ask, as I can usually get it.

Test it on something else first to see what kind of texture it is going to give you....might not be what you are looking for.
