Minwax Lacquer vs Decals (a tragic story)

I usually put a coat of lacquer over my models after decals before I do final detail and weathering painting. I had t finished my Vulcan Shuttle from AMT (Over 120 decals, four nights worth of decals). So the next day I went to put my lacquer coat on it and I did not have any of my normal spray so I went to the garage and found a can of MINWAX Clear Aerosol LAQUER Clear Satin. I read on the back that it was for wood and metal. I think to myself "self lacquer is laquer what can go wrong". Well 24 hours later half of my decals have faded and developed bubbles. So be careful It did'nt seem to effect any of my painted areas but it is way to hot for AMT decals.
