Good evening all.
For the next project I thought it was time to jump on to the Star Wars bandwagon.
I have this template, that I've had for a long time but never got around to build.
The only instructions are a few CAD drawings for the sub-assemblies, so it will be a challenge.
Add to that, this model was not designed with a detailed cockpit, only a blacked out canopy.
In my inventory is a template for a MF cockpit interior. It was originally designed for use with the Finemolds MF .
I believe I can make it work.
Built up the canopy, cutting out the window areas. Scaled the templates for the interior and proceeded to assemble the interior. After having it 60% built, dry fitted it to the canopy and it was too small. So back to the computer and rescale it again. This time it was a proper fit.
Now a new problem arose. The canopy was too long. Checking the specs for the millennium falcon, yes it was too long and narrow at the front.
Imported this piece into my design software and proceeded to redesign it. This time also coloured the interior to match the cockpit assembly.
The result is more inscale and fits the interior much better.
Some pics of the original canopy with the interior and the tunnel.
A comparison of the original canopy with the new one.
A couple more pics of the interior.
Still have to design the chairs for the interior, but this is where I am at tonight.
Thank you for following.
Questions and comments welcome.
