Horizon Models 1/72 Redstone Juno I with Explorer I

g'day all,

This is a second build of the Redstone rocket from Horizon Models.
This kit has parts and markings for 4 different versions.
This time round, i'm doing the Redstone Rocket Juno I with Explorer I
I have a 3rd kit to build up a ballistic rocket.
The photo etch for the Explorer I antennae was hard to put into place ... ended up with a bit of super glue and damaged the part.

HI SIR yes i use to love buildin rockects but mine flew they were the eestes type an had great fun with them but will follow your build as you go on

Redstone Rocket Juno I with Explorer I

Ha! Had to look it up, no wonder, launched the year I was born!

Never built a model rocket - drew many though - especially when the latest National Geographic landed in the mail during the Apollo program!
Memories of colour TV, cable ...and Walter Cronkite!

Nice work, will be cool to see all 3 side by side!
