If I may offer a suggestion, don't align the brickwork with the sides of the base. Rotate it slightly. That means you will likely have to cut the plates that you have cast. But it will look better in the end, than if the seams in the brick pattern are parallel to the sides of the base.

Thanks for that suggestion, I have set up the plates so that I can put them at a diagonal, to remind me to do so.
