Hello All,

I am wondering what technique you use to cut square and rectangular windows in your space ship models? I can think of a few ways but I am wondering what you do.

Thanks!

Well, not necessarily space ship models, but the technique would be the same for ship models or other genres:

I drill a small starter hole, then use a hobby knife and fine needle files to shape the window.

What are the sizes? If it's not too small i drill four corners and use below tool for edges, for tiny gaps you can use scribing tool repedeately, it's risky and requires experience;

When i was a kid i started modeling with balsa aircrafts and MDF ships, i was also using this tool on MDF, it's very durable.

Once I get these smaller holes cut what do you recommend to sand them smooth? I have a few metal files but they are too big to get in these smaller Voyager windows.
