From Vigilante to Hasegawa F-15J. My wife works for a Japanese company and her boss is moving back to Japan so we decided to build a JASDF F-15J...I'm pretty pleased at the start.
Doesn't fit well at all, especially at the intake fuselage and wing attach points. What will be interesting is this F-15J had a $14.00 price point and if I'm not certain it is a C series less expensive kit. I purchased the more expensive $25.00 kit and will see if the joints are tighter. That much putty on a Hasegawa kit surprises me but then I've not built this kit. Looking good so far.
So, I think the F-15J or even the F-15C has more of a sky blue gray color, but I kind of a guy who paints straight from a bottle and I tried to find the sky blue and couldn't find it so I went with this model air colorsBoth builds look fantastic. What paints did you use on the F-15? The darker color is more blue than that on the real jets. Just an observation. Wish I had your skill.
That AK Eagle looks fantastic!!If I recall correctly I used that same set.View attachment 165161
So I can see how you got your colors. Looks great to me!
Might be an older color set? The C models wear very bluish paint these days. Those sets are very convenient though. Great results. So, I think the F-15J or even the F-15C has more of a sky blue gray color, but I kind of a guy who paints straight from a bottle and I tried to find the sky blue and couldn't find it so I went with this model air colors
Get the colored photoetch set by Eduard, specifically made for Hasegawa's F-15 kits. It adds nice detail.Very nice work!! I also went out and bought the newer kit for myself. I'm pretty pleased with the way this one is turning out and will be a great going away gift for my wife's japaneese boss as he leaves for Japan in December. I also have the USAF retooled F-15C from Hasegawa.
Nice!Birthday present for my dad
