picked this up to make for a patient. I'm just doing a simple quick build as I'm not sure what's going to end up happening to this model once I give it away. I think it's an older kit, some flash, overall not too bad.

Very cool. The N was a beast—stripped down and high power, the Navy flew them so hard at TOPGUN the airframes wore out fast and they were retired early. Look forward to seeing the completed kit.

Haha well you are going to be disappointed! I'm not putting too much time and energy into this one. I do like it though and am already scoping out 1/48 or larger kits. The guy I'm making this for will likely trade it for drugs so I'm not investing a ton into it. Part of me is second guessing the whole idea to be honest as I don't want to contribute to his addictions. I'm hoping the "connection" will be more helpful than hurtful. Man, now I'm rethinking this.

Hit this with a base coat of light ghost grey and touched the exhaust with a bit of black base for metal finish later. I'm going to experiment with this exhaust. I would have sanded this better if I was giving it to someone who would notice. Honestly I could give it to him like this and he would be thrilled. I'm trying to balance sharpening my skills while not taking too much time doing this project. The wheel doors did not end up flush and I'm letting that sit as is. I was surprised that it did. Not take more work to make this a wheels up kit. Obviously I should have sanded the doors a bit more for a better fit. My concern was that I had glued to tabs inside connecting the two outer doors and the middle piece would then get glued to these tabs, ensuring it didn't disappear inside the wheel well. Naturally as I was messing around trying to get the last piece in place my tab dropped off. Point is I was concerned if I sanded too much I'd lose the exterior piece. It was too late in the night and the area too small to consider trying to glue a new tab in place. Like I said, trying to keep this build in balance. I did look at a Tamiya kit, $55 with full armament- I didn't realize kits were not providing full armament! But then, next to that kit was a $35 kit with no armament. Seems a bit ridiculous to me. That's got to be a huge profit margin.

Did the camo today. I lightened up the other light grey trying to make it more obvious. Maybe it'll stand out more with a matte varnish. Going to paint up the rockets and add them, varnish coat it and give it to my patient this week.

Wrapped this up this morning. Found out my pt is using again so I'll be hanging onto this. Argh. I'm going to have to mount this in flight. Haven't done that before and wasn't planning on it.

Shame about pt, we live a few blocks from a 'clinic' so we see more than I want to see of that kind of addiction.

Interested to see how you display it in flight!
Very few have broken free from their addictions. It is sad how drugs have destroyed so many lives. And those who end up psychotic because of the drugs.
