I did the most nooby thing :( and that is touch my painted model and left a thumb print and it's metallic painted surface. So far I softly sand away the prints with a 1000 grit , but not a nice finish. Could I polish it to a nice shine? What compound should I use?

The paint is Testor's enamel silver.

I did exactly the same thing once. I managed to buff out most of the fingerprint using very fine Micro Mesh sandpaper - 1500 or 2000 grit. I then managed to blend in the rest of the blemish with SNJ buffing metalizer powder.

Thanx Splashcoat, I'll give a shot. :)
