How to apply a decal on top of another decal?

Let's say I have applied a decal, including brushing micro-sol on it. Now, I need to apply a decal on top of the already set decal. Is there a recommended best practice for this? Should I just micro-set the surface, apply the decal, and then apply micro-sol, as before?

You can often just go right on top of the first decal once it's dry .
More than a few kits with multipiece decals .

You can always shoot down a clear coat atop the first one prior to the second if you have concerns .
If you think you need extra time with the second one it will help .

I've had no problems doing this with some of the more recent Star Trek kits. Just make sure the first layer is completely dry before going to the next layer

I have messed this up by applying the second decal right after applying the first. So waiting until dry is the way.
