F16-A Israeli Air Force " Fighting Falcon"

You've got some serious painting skills, and the pre-shading is coming out nicely.

I agree with you, the blue looks a little odd. As far as I know, the Israelis used two greens: a darker one (F-4s, A-4s, early F-16s), and a lighter green (later F-16s; F-15s).

According to cybermodeler.com, the light green should be FS34424, and that would be Vallejo Nº 885.

If you're willing to use enamels, this guy used Humbrol Nº 23 (Duck Egg Blue) on his F-15I, and it looks pretty close.

Another option is Humbrol Nº 90, that's the one I will use on my F-15I (if I ever finish the F-16 I'm building).

Looking forward to your next post.

Top quality airbrush control! Great work :)
Unfortunately i think you're right on the colour though. That blue just doesn;t look quite right :(

Lads, thanks for all the comments, surprised at how well it came out, but wasn't as hard as I expected. I will definitely give it another go on future builds.

Yanpol- thanks for posting the link, that's exactly the colour I was after. I checked the paint charts and I actually have the Tamiya equivalent in my paint stash. I debated using it but in the bottle the Vallejo pale blue looked more like what I wanted, different story though when it went on... ::)

Anyways will go over it again on the weekend and put the final shading on the browns - thanks for the advice Chris :)

Cheers !

Not much bench time this weekend. Re did the blue camo, much happier with the result.

Thanks for looking :)

I thought the last paint looked pretty awesome, but you're right, this is better - subtle and a much better match to the actual camo scheme.

Thanks for the comments gents. :)

Undercarriage has been assembled just need to paint it then I will post some more pics.

Very nice paint job!

Got some decals on ;D

I used Tamiya grey panel line wash for the top fuselage, it's quite subtle, do you think it's needs to be darker ??

Needs some Sol in places. Ill let every thing dry then get the decals on the bottom.

Comments welcome , thanks for looking :)

Lookin mighty fine. The dark and subtle P/lines are popping in the pics. 8)

Very very nice, really coming together well!
& personally I think that panel line wash is perfect.
Are you going to lighten/darken some individual panels? That might also break up the finish a bit more.

Thanks for the comments lads.

Billb, I might play around with some oils on individual panels to add a little interest.

The panel lines and the camo look spot on mate :) ,some very light streaking with the oils would look good ,but keep it very light ...less is more ;)

Chris.

Small update, got a flat coat on, the wheels fuel tank and missiles are painted, just need the right shade of blue for the sidewinders and I reckon she'll be done by this time next week.

My favourite part, pulling of the canopy masking ;D
