Come on now JJ. You are probably a very good painter it's just that you critique your own work too much.@Rob Very professional looking paint job. Wish I was that good. JJ
Looks great. I agree with you on learning things from the others here. I never paid any attention to the injection marks before. Sometimes I still don't think about them until I see them after the model is completed.Right now just working on all the tedious little things that attach to the cab and the tractor. When I first painted the bulletproof windows? I didn't realize that with the window open you know swung down, it shows the ejection marks. Bummer. So hopefully I got rid of those but I see a couple so I'm going to have to make that a muddy spot!. You guys got me into that injection Mark thing. Ever since I joined you guys have taught me a lot. And I think I might go as far as rolling out epoxy putty into a very thin line so I can redo some of the weld seams on here. But here's this couple more pictures next up is the winch assembly and hoist and then I can get going on the trailer.

I'm probably going to stick my Tiger tank on it so couple of them are going to be flat. That is a good idea though. Now I wonder if I could heat those rubber tires up in such a way and apply weight or just push the axle down with your hand like it weighs a lot and maybe the tire will stay like that?? Interesting. Has anyone tried that? Kind of like on a dragster. After he does the burnout and he's waiting for the green? He hits the gas. How would you get tires to look like that? Maybe if you were a really great painter you could paint the tire to make it look like that? I don't know. Something to think about.weathering is fun, enjoy it ...... one thing I would suggest is, if you put a tank on the trailer is to sand a flat spot on the tires to represent the weight.
You can also carefully heat the bottom ~15 degree angle of the tire (the same part you would be sanding) with a candle and mash a flat spot into them.weathering is fun, enjoy it ...... one thing I would suggest is, if you put a tank on the trailer is to sand a flat spot on the tires to represent the weight.
That's funny you should say that because that assembly reminds me of the book I read on building of the Panama Canal. Pictures of those old digging machines
There are so many benefits to this hobby.Okay I have a question for everyone. Are we weird? I mean, this is just the greatest Hobby, the amount of detail it's just, I don't know, makes you want to smile and say wow this is cool! You just can't wait until it comes to life. And then there's other people that just can't understand why you can sit there for hours and Fiddle with little tiny pieces.

Agreed! There are so many benefits to this hobby.
From emotional support to learning new and fascinating historical facts, there are some distinct benefits that come with this hobby.
It is a great and rewarding hobby.. and yes, we are weird.![]()
True!Agreed!
For me one thing I find cathartic is that this hobby teaches (forces you sometimes) to just slow down. That is a lesson that can be applied to may aspects of life. Slow down son!
It's looking great. PanthermanAll right got some more stuff on the cab and I'll be building the Hoist and winch assembly. I don't know. I'm mad at myself I didn't watch a video or anything on how to do that photo etch stuff or whatever the heck is in brass. First time dealing with it and I screwed it up. I should have watched a YouTube video or something. Live and learn. I'll fix it, Maybe. That's the diesel exhaust.

This is a fantastical build. Now I want to build one. If course mine would not be anywhere near as awesome as yours!Got the tandem winch assembly in and working on the Hoist and A frame next. Next is either touch up paint and weathering the tractor or I can build the trailer assembly.
