HI Edbert well its only a 12v eletrical system an ive been wirein up my planes an ships for yrs an never had any problems as resistors in the leds wirein circut keeps the power low an these lights in the planes are either worked from a 12v batt or how ive got the planes set up at the moment they are workin an takin power from a mains powerd 12v adaptor an they all work tickecy booAny concern about heat, from the electronics?
HI Jakko cheers yes it was a bit difficult at times but i dont like to be beaten on a kit an now building that big big 1/32 phantom an it proven a bit difficult as i want to light up the conrtolls in it but will see how it goesI remember you struggling with it a number of times, but you ended up with a good-looking model nonetheless![]()
HI glad you like the plane an love the enterprise she has over a 100 leds in her an took me a 18 months to build an the engines have a pulseating warp effectMost impressive! And I love that Enterprise!
THANKS Steve yes i had great fun lighting up my modelsImpressive light work, Chris, wow!
HI Peppy an the gent you can see is prob me lol an yes i love the jolly rogers as FEAR THE BONES is their moto an i loved the planes in the film THE FINAL COUNTDOWN brillant film that was where the tomcats splashed the zerosWho is the gentleman we can see through the open hanger deck door?

HI Edbert sorry to take so long to answer your qeustion but no no problems about heat from the eletronincs as the plane is only lit up for 15 mins at a time as she is on a timer 15mins on then 30 mins off to allow anything to cool off before the timer switches the lights back on as never had any probs with any of my modelsAny concern about heat, from the electronics?
I think this is the hardest part right? Getting an LED (2 actually) into the top of the vertical stabs, there's usually zero room inside of those, maybe 1/32 is better but not much. Do you have to use a dremel as a router to cut a channel?ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FIT THE 2MM LED
HI Edbert yes i do use a dremel an a router fitted in an quite easy to do all thats reqired is to make sure that the plastic does not get hot an melt so a little at a time an yes 1/32 scale are best but ive made several 1/48th scale planes lit up to an even some 1/144 scale tomcats an super hornets light up on my big USS NIMITZ its just a matter of piatiene an not hurry doin it an two 1/144 scale hawkeyes an they had tiny motors in the engines to turn the props an lights in them an they looked an worked brilliantly an here are some 1/144 scale planes lit up an enginges goin on my big carrier so size dont really matter unless its a miniture plane then it doesI think this is the hardest part right?
