HI Richard well if you get stressed out too building then we are in the ame boat an sorry no ive built workin helo's for my big warship in 1/72 scale BUT IVE NO INTREST in building them in 1/32 im a fraid as a 1/32 copper takes up a lot of room so no an ive got all the kits i need to see me out as i may snuff it before i get too build all my kits esp the conbine as im gettin old anyway

HI ALL well a few more pics on the build an these are the pylons that hold the sidewinders misslles an 3 5001b long fused bombs on each one

AN HERE a underside shot of her an all this bottom is now painted an i used humbroll maskol to cover over the lights an she lookin big now an i decisied to brush paint the camo on the top side as i dont want to take a chance of messin this model up by tryin to a/b it after all the work ive put in on it so ive chickened out lol

HI GUYS well ive drawn with a pencil where an what colurs are to be paint on her

NOW I THINK ive made a boo boo in the colours that steve sent me after doin a bit of painting the colours to me dont look right so im askin all you guys your opinion please as i think the brown tan look to light an the light green is also to light what do you all think ? as ive stopped the painting till i hear your opinion guys as yes i think the dark green looks ok but the other colour ? so what do you guys thnk

Assuming your camera is seeing what you are seeing, and what you posted is also what you are seeing, I agree. The lighter green and brown-tan are much too light. What brand of paint are you using? I know you are brush painting, are you diluting the paint at all?

I would darken both up. But you are right that light green is like too light. Maybe too bright of a green. But then again once you put a wash on it it'll darken it all up

It does seem strange that. although they were the recommended colours, they do seem fat too light a shade

HI Marten many thanks for your reply as i was in two minds about this so i was right in thinkin about these colours are not right cheers sir an im usein humbroll paints straight from the tin an no not diluting the paints at all
SO ive had a good look through my paint set an picked out some darker paints an im gonna repaint the light colours

AN HI Rob well i dont use wash never have as ive always got the colours right on my models an this is the first time ive brush painted a model in camoflarge in over 50 odd yrs so im a but rusty on this but yes im glad i asked all you guys your opinions as im a lot happyier now ive seen the light so to say lol so yes its gonna be a repaint
on these two colours as it shot me down a bit on my mojo but im glad i stopped when i did as would have been sick if i had painted the whole plane oh dear

AN HI Steve yes it does seem strange about these colours as when before i started to paint i had a good look at the tinlet top colours an to me they looked ok an i thought the paints would darken up when they are dry but well just goes to show how wrong i can be on that but many thanks to you sir for sending the kit an paints in the first place again much APPRECIATED

WELL GUYS ive repainted her in darker colours an now she looks right just now waitin for the matt paint to dry off then some pics on monday as tomorrow im takin MY HMS NORFOLK up Norwich pond for warship day an this time i will take my camera hope the wheather is better as its peein down here at the moment oh dear

HI GUYS well ive repainted her in what i think are colours not to far off the real camoflarge an i give myself 7 out of 10 so will do for me as it now looks a hell of a better look than it did what do you guys think ? an she still needs a lot of touchin up here an there but i think im now on the right track an ive not still had the chance of wipein the maskol off the nav lights an such so will do them today now some pics for you all

That said, I notice it varies a bit between the pictures, especially the last. So it could just be the lighting, or the photo file, or my monitor. Also, when you cover it in a flat coat, everything will get darker. Any chance of photographing it outside in daylight?

THANKS Marten YES will take the plane out after tea an take a pic of it in daylight ok but as far as im conered its done as i used all matt paints an gave them a good stir up but the green still has a small shine to it

I think what I'm seeing online is not what your eyes are seeing. In the photo, as it appears on my monitor the right wingtip, center fuselage, left wing, tail fuselage, and left stabilizer browns are all slightly different. The wing and stabilizer brown-tan looks about as I would expect. Since this is in daylight, the color difference is likely an electronics issue: camera to computer to internet to computer. I'd say if it looks right to you, it probably is.
