LOOKS Good Rob an in 1/48 scale should be plenty of detail well done so far

Nice painting! Are you following the recommended colors from HK?
I use mostly Tamia paints. So far it's turning out to look like the box art. I basically follow with the instructions on painting and then sometimes I say it looks better this way. But black primer, Sky Gray for pre shade, and olive drab. That's just the body color. Now what I'll do is lighten up the olive drab with yellow and spray the plane here and there you know for accent. And maybe lighten it up some more or go with a different olive drab. You know. Kind of like weathering. Then I'll spray some smoke on it for the engines and cover everything with gloss and start on the decals

I'm still overwhelmed by the number of kitmakers these days. Impressed with what I've seen here from "HK Models" (Hong Kong I assume) I looked them up on Scalemates....WOW!

They seem to be bomber-centric, and just thinking of a 1/32 Lancaster blows me away. Thinking that maybe their 1/48 B-17 would be cool (I built the Monogram one 45-50 years ago), but still too large for my display case. If I had not built (or tried) that AM B-25 earlier this year I'd have ordered one already. Boston, Mosquito, Meteor do not excite me, and I have the Tamiya Pfiel in my stash already. Hmmm.

Thank you down time. Word of warning for those who are going to build one of these. That whole glazed nose should be built in one complete unit like where my finger is pointing. Don't do it like I did it which is I glued on the bottom part and then was going to glue on the canopy and it didn't line up too good. What I'll have to do is sand the bottom piece at an angle on the top of it to blend into the canopy.

Got a little more done. Weather has been real nice lately. Working on the decals. Word of advice. Don't glue on the completed tail rudders. Wait till you put the decals on because even though they're cartograph you have to work at it. Especially that Indian. Took about an hour or so several applications of Mark fit. And then after a while you just keep working it with a Q-tip in it forms in really nice

Wow! Thank you. Both of you. All of you. I certainly didn't expect that. That makes a person feel good. Thanks guys. Now I have to say that when I did take the tape off the canopy even I said wow that looks great! That last plane I built. The Stuka. I even said I hate doing canopies, they never turn out right. So with this model I felt I had to order the die cut masks and I'm glad I did. I'll take some more pictures after I fix some stuff. You know sometimes you wonder why you put on the barrels of the machine guns when you're just starting to build the thing. So the two machine guns in the ass end need to be drilled and redone cuz those broke off and one of the machine guns on the side broke off. So I'll fix all the little stuff and take a bunch of pictures and go from there. I ordered that Uma Harrier but it's not going to hit the docks until next month. I might have to break down and open up my ZM P51 but I wanted to try that new metal paint line Andy has in but it's all sold out most of it it went quick

yup, I've been watching closely, and you really nailed it! In a couple of those pics, if it weren't for the reflections, I'd have thought you forgot the panes!
Thanks man. And I do watch everyone's build I might give a thumbs up or something and if I do happen to comment on anything that just means your work really sucks. Just kidding. All I know is I watch your work and I go man he must love doing that tedious little stuff that drives me nuts

Hey Rob, quick one: did you use any aftermarket parts (except canopy masks) or all original?
