Category: Armor
Name of Build: Bergepanzerwagen IV 1/35 Dragon
Kit manufacturer: Dragon
Scale: 1/35
Description
I always liked the Bergepanzer III with the open box working area on top and decided to take this idea to a Panzer IV chassis. I started with the Dragon Bergepanzer IV and created a steel frame and box working platform from plastic and balsa. I also scratch built part of the interior that would be seen through the drivers hatch and repositioned the kit derrick crane to the front of the chassis. The whole tank was airbrushed in green and brown before I cut a disc camo mask from 100's of circles cut with hole punches from tape and then airbrushed with dark yellow. Various filters and washes were added to tone and blend the paint, mud effects were splashed on and all the details were painted in and then tons of tools, stowage and accessories were added to make this look like a hard worked vehicle. I really enjoyed this build and have never put so much effort into a single vehicle. Thanks for looking!
