No not a ton. The laser lances lack the most detail but for me its not a big deal.

Looking cool. The kits don't appear to need a ton of work which is great.

Red 1 - 4 moving along. Getting to the point were I can focus on specific fighters. Got started on Garven Dreis, red leaders fighter. Base colors down, got started on the droid (only have R2 droids so its not correct but will be painted correct), weathering up next.

All my research on each of these fighters brings up a question (possible chit chat)... what is your favorite x-wing color scheme?

Red 4 is cool with its variations of tan. Red 3 has the largest color count, so it really stands out. Red 5 I think we all know well, for that reason could be the least interesting. I think Red 2 could fall this way as well, Wedge is a cool pilot none the less. Red 6 with all the rusty reds is great. Of course the minimalist but so cool Red leader.

I think I have to pick Biggs, Red 3?

How about you?

I have to go with Red 1 as a first choice and Red 4 a close second choice. But yeah, they are all smokin. To be honest though I'm getting tired of Red 5. Just my opinion though. I have one more M.P.C. X in the stash and I'm pretty sure it will have a lot of tan on it.

Painting update. Red 1-3 progress, mostly base colors. Just starting to weather red leader. So much color fade, filth, and blast marks to come.

It's been far too long but I have an update on this project. Red leader is just about finished. The base needs some weathering, droid needs painted, but otherwise he is done.

Note the clean replacement panel on the front is coming out SUPER white in the photos, it is not this bright, must be the camera flash.

The Red 1 is my favourite,......I've painted my Bandai XWing as Leader.....there were a couple of things to touch up,.....but after seeing yours there might be a few more!!!

.......and I was searching for your reference photos weeks ago,....just found them at the start of your thread,.....very useful

I'd love to do a 'Red (Squadron) Arrows' style arrangement of them in an acrobatic formation with all 6 fighters
