Hi guys, back with my Flanker project completed several weeks ago, finally found the time to upload the pics.
Amazed at the quality of the Academy models, but the design was a bit lazy with several flaws as the kit itself is a carry over from their Su-27 and builder has to do conversion at several joints
At full weapon load this model is really heavy, kept worrying about those skimpy landing gear won't hold, especially thought the forward one at that 45 degree angle may slowly get bend out of shape, but fortunately didn't happen. I liked Tamiya models where there are usually metal stick as re-enforcement in the center.
I used Chrome Silver to paint the machine gun plating instead of the supplied decal, which looked fake.
Next project already decided !! Starting an Italeri 1/48 Osprey in a few weeks.
