Hey all. Taking a bit of a break from the Enterprise, andso will be starting work on this lil guy I just got today:20210808_140935.jpg

I had an older version of this kit but messed up the right foot. I hope to not do that this time.

And Zoe has already stated she is painting the pilot and mechanic figures for me.

Will post more once I begin work on it.

So the GF had to leave early today to help her mom with stuff, so decided to crack open the Dougram kit. Got the head built, and the cockpit painted.20210808_183316.jpg20210808_183340.jpg20210808_183349.jpg

Unfortunately the three figures, two of the pilot seated and standing and the mechanic kneeling, won't get painted till next weekend. I would paint them myself, but she wants to paint them. I am gonna slap some gloss on the dashboard once the decal dries . And unlike the first time I am gonna putty and paint everything.

I've got the old 'Robotech Defenders' version of this in my stash from ages ago. Been meaning to get to it.
Yours looks like it's off to a good start

I had that in high school. I had a few of the Revell Robotech kits, mainly the ones actually from Macross as the Macross Saga was my favorite.

Now though I wanna check out Dougram. Been reading about it and it sounds quite interesting, and far more grounded than Robotech/Macross.

Well, not a whole lot done on Dougram. Tonight I got the chest and left arm built and finished the Linear Cannon.20210813_211344.jpg20210813_211616.jpg20210813_211621.jpg

Tomorrow after work I wanna build the right arm, touch up the silver, seal with gloss, then work on the other colors and decals. Sunday is my Bday so I doubt any work gets done.

So got both arms done, and have gotten colors on and glossed for decals. Decided that the slightly rough look of the silver paint was desired, as I'll be fairly heavily weathering the guy.20210815_003957.jpg

Obviously the paper towel is to keep the gloss from the cockpit. Gonna use my brush on flat in there, then follow up with gloss on the dashboard.

The Linear Gun for his right arm is partially assembled and primed, as there are three different colors on it. 20210815_003947.jpg

And got the hands and some other parts going. 20210815_004022.jpg

I hope to have this basically done by the end of the week, as the lighting kit for my baby is due to drop sometime next week, and I want Dougram done before I receive the lighting kit.

So Sunday night after the GF went home(fun time with her and my friends for my Bday btw), and this morning before I went to work I started decaling Dougram. As of the time of writing this I just finished the backpack, the white stripe on the Linear Cannon, and the entire upper torso and arms of Douggie.

I plan to do the lower torso and legs decals tomorrow (gloss clear currently curing on em) and hopefully get flat clear on everything tomorrow night. Then onto weathering.

All that is left is to decal the right leg, then seal the decals with flat and start to weathering.20210817_111624.jpg

The GF will paint the figures this weekend.

The more I see of this, the more I want to get mine out and build him
Its a very cool robot. This kit also has his midseason upgrade of a head mounted missile pod. It replaces the smoke grenade canisters on the right side of his head.

I can't wait for my GF to get the pilot and mechanic painted.

So now the completed and decaled parts await flat clear and weathering... have to wait till the weekend as I am out of flat. :( 20210818_110315.jpg

And on a side note, a tease for the next project as I await the new light kit for the Enterprise...

Well! Zoe is currently working on painting the pilot and mechanic figures for Dougram as I hop between it and the Angela model. I just got Dougram out of the booth and fully assembled! He is ready for weathering and final detailing!20210821_211117.jpg20210821_211121.jpg20210821_211136.jpg20210821_211317.jpg

Well, weathering is coming along nicely... due to my health scare yesterday Zoe didn't paint the pilot and mechanic so they have to wait till next weekend.20210823_153126.jpg20210823_153135.jpg20210823_153145.jpg
