'72 Toyota Celica 1600GT - Aoshima

no ignition key either
Who was that with the PE set of keys? I can't find any online. I can still dress up the interior on this kit. I bought four Aoshima kits on impulse not knowing they were curbside. Is there a way to tell from the box?

Anyway, gives me more time to practice on my body finishes. I NEED AN AIRBRUSH! I'm tired of buying a new rattle can every build and not using the whole thing, not leaving enough for another for another build leaving but too much to just toss.

It should say on the box if it's curbside , or on the site you're buying from .
You can check Scalemates if you have doubts , assuming the kit has been added there .

Yes , you really need to get an airbrush .

Bordsteinkante
haha , why ?
Just google translate the page .
Or you're looking for it on a box ?

Hmm, wheels. The kit comes with two choices chrome spokes and black plastic rally type. I tried gunmetal on the rally wheels going by the box art.

That was too dark. I went with Molotow.

Nah, going with the spokes.

Any tips on how to put a finish on the tires? Armor All? I thought about painting the lettering and then I woke up.

The one piece undercarriage is pretty basic. I tried to jazz it up a bit. with different colors. It was odd, some pieces connected to nothing.

The kit does have springs for the suspension. That's new.

And a battery compartment. I have no plan to light this kit, but I would be interested to see the process. I wouldn't even know where to start.

My current issues, in no particular order:
  • The kit comes with no guide whatsoever for lights. If I were to put lights in the model, where do I start? Total novice.

  • The kit comes with a clear piece for the gauges that has molded detail in front. Since I won't be lighting it up, I thought of filing down the detail and using decals but I didn't' want to wait for the mail. I painted the back and tried to highlight the detail. WWUD?

* The zoomed in photos today sure do show every paint stroke.

I'm stuck. Why is the steering wheel IN the driver seat? I don't see it. Where did I go wrong? I followed the instructions. 20240414_175642.jpg20240414_174438.jpg
