350 Enterprise-A, smusno style!

Hey,
Good to see you back on track here. This particular model has been Mobey Dick to my Captain Ahab. I had a moment like the father did in A Christmas Story after his leg crumbled after it broke and he tried to glue it all back together...I left it alone.. I have the saucer section completed of the next one..if you dig back further enough on my youtube page you'll see the end result of that model.
Bloody conniption fit.

If you can steer this one home, then you are a better man than me. Just keep your course steady and follow the star you know that will get you home. ARRRRRR

Anyone that tackles this model has a love for it that stems from the moment it got revealed in that first movie. Followed by the heart break of watching it blow up in the third movie..Dude, I almost walked out in tears..but I was a kid and also thought Inframan was cool.
My mistake was trying to do it before I had more sub-assembly painting and building experience..and not a clear plan on getting it all together in the end. ALso...not using the right paint for the job. I started with a base coat of Model Master buffing stuff..and no matter what I did..the vinyl lifted the paint underneath.
Anyway..I'm pretty sure you can do a much better job.

2 parts flat white, 1 part light blue. and it actually gets a little bluer the further you go back into the shuttle bay for a little forced perspective.

now i need to paint some teeny weeny peeps ;D

Great idea! I never thought about that but model railroaders use forced perspective all the time.

Good to see you back at this!

Shuttlebay looks great and that forced perspective works really well.

todays progress.

painty peeps tomorrow!

Wow, this shuttlebay is just marvelous!
Now, You can purchase something like this
http://starshipmodeler.biz/shop/index.cfm/product/1540_39/1350-shuttlebay-stand-for-pl-ncc-1701a.cfm
place all those tiny shuttlecrafts and apply decals, additional detalization and staff,
turn to the dio category and wait for your prise ;D
The Ent itself, You are asking?
Weeeel, You can put it aside now, and build someday simply with the shuttlebay doors closed... ;D
Just joking, mate, but the serious point is:
this shuttlebay looks AWESOME all by itself, even without the rest of the model.
Brilliant work!

P.S: I wish Round2 had produced the shuttlebay with some photoetch maybe included in the kit. At least the trees of the bay all alone. I would have purchased such a kit with not a second of hesitation.

im never going to get this finished.

Of course you will. I haven't even started my build and I start a new job on Monday with a 1 hour commute each way. Blah!

Of course you will! You've done so much awesome work so far. Plenty of time left!

And even if you find yourself unable to finish on time, it's not the worst thing that can happen. You're still allowed to finish the model! It just means my Romulan Stormbird will get promoted 1 place!!! ;D
