I'm calling this one done! But I was tempted to call it "I've lost Artoo!" I hate those little decals on crazy surfaces.

The reference photos helped a lot, and this was great practice for a future 1:48 in my stash. I'll be making some modifications on that piece based on things I observed with this one. Thanks for lookin', and feel free to ask any questions!

Thanks guys! This was a fun one to put together. I'm really digging oil paints for the weathering. I'm not great at it yet, but it seems to work out.

I was looking at they 1:48 the other day and I'll definitely change some things and make some modifications to it if I ever get around to building the thing!

I built an X-wing years ago but I made the mistake of building one that looked like it had came out of the factory , I never even gave it a thought to making it something like the movie ...... ie weathered .
If I ever do another X-wing ....... it'll be battered ......but not like Red Three - Biggs Darklighter's X-wing that got shot down by Darth Vader kinda battered ..... just weathered

I've been wondering about the Bandai. It looks like there are some details that are more accurate on them, though the panel lines look really wide/deep on the photos I've seen. It could be the way they have been painted/finished though. I also like the option to leave out the clear plastic. I'm curious to see what you all think.
