It's funny but when they first started doing all the participation trophies I told my wife "These kids are going to be screwed when they hit the real world and start having to perform for a raise." It never dawned on me that the workforce would just lower its standards. Another thought: I never understood how the world could go from Roman medicine to the dark ages - now I do.

I knew something was wrong when my only son was coming home from school early three times a week. What is it today I would ask. Why you home early again it's only 10:00 in the morning. I don't know he would say. Some teacher meeting or something. And then my son and his girlfriend were sitting around and I was trying to teach them something and I said it's just basic mathematics guys. It's not that hard. She looked at me and says what's mathematics?

Taking care of the self-esteem of a kid is totally fine by me, but that doesn't necessarily mean building an "everybody-wins" illusion, which is a typical leftard thinking. A kids can fail in math without being reprimanded. However, he should understand that math is not his strong suite. while knowing he can be excellent in other fields.
