At 1st glance im really disappointed with the lack of interior and theres nothing on the aftermarket eather which is a shame really. But im sure i wont let this bother me. So lets get building :)

1st job done :) sanding all the over scaled rivits airfix insist on puting on small kits.

I know just buy opening and looking at the parts this is going to be 1 pain in the butt kit. Theres flash everywhere. And some off the parts are worped. Another thing i think i might have to go stock up on my filler becouse this kits fit is rubbish to be honest...

Sorry to hear about how bad the fit is on this kit, but it is a good subject. Will be watching!

Ill try my best to do it justice. :) just have to knuckle down and get on with it :-\

Well what can i say after a lot of sanding and filling iv desided to scrach build some of the interior to dive it some detail. Im not going to overboard but it need something. Anyways heres what iv done so far. Not much as like i said filling and sanding has took up much off the time. But i have started the framework on 1 half and started building the seat section.

G'Day Ridgers,

I'm currently building this kit myself, except I've converted it to a Mk.50 Royal Australian Navy version.
You can see my efforts over on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/cobrawingman?feature=mhee).

You'll find this kit is a silk purse from a sows ear project.

Which version are you building ???

Might I suggest throwing the kit transparencies and make your own - did you find dimples on both sides of the transparency ??? I thought of sanding them out and polishing them, but it is quicker to make your own...

Wow its good to hear some1 else struggling with this kit. Im building the raf rescue one as theres one that sits at our local hospital. Still waiting on the decals. There was a lot of dimples and sink holes in the whole kit which is a big let down. But kind of expected from old airfix. Ill check out your vid and see how your getting on with it. Might even get some tips :)

Just a quick update on my progress. My completly scrach built interior. Gonna work on the cockpit tonight but heres what iv done

Lots off gaps all the way round and a few big steps. Looks like another night filling and sanding :(

I have faced that before and it can be overcome. Just take your time you will tackle those seams like a champ!

use some evergreen and epoxy putty and superglue those joins before hand.
Test fit the canopy as well, you'll experience some alignment and fit issues ...
I found alot of epoxy putty was needed around the engine housing and behind the top of the canopy ...underside can be fixed with putty

Thanks cobraleader iv got most of the seam filling done. I did test fit the canopy and noticed that its to big and a gap that needs fixed onthe back of it. Ill put some pics up when im on to that

I thought id crack on with some building since i have the afternoon off and put the engine intakes on and boom... Back to a halt. This is the gaps if you want it to line up :(

Was hoping to get it primed this week end but fat chance off that happening now with things like this to sort

Crazy question but i had a little accident and spilt white spirit on my canopy... Does anyone know how to get rid off the "fog" its quite bad :-[
