    The Scrap Buggy

After some consideration and total blank thinking of how to make the wheels I did was searched Sprue Bro for Round Tubing from Evergreen and ordered one each...Sure I could dig out the spares boxes for some wheels that would pass, but this is for 100% scratch build. What I had in mind was...

    Dirty Sherman

Hey, thanks Rob, long time no see, hope all is well! Jelly I did not do anything to the kit, did not even attempt any corrections. This was just an exercise in techniques to see if I can do it. Actually I was coached along but Bob Letterman, he did a pretty easy SBS lesson here...

Thanks guys. those are Archer Dry Transfers. The Betty Boop smeared a little during the wash process, I figured some jackwagon crewman could have smeared the paint job in real life so what the hey.. ;D

Dirtied up a Sherman to try out some dry brushing weathering techniques, whacha think? 1:35 scale Dragon M4A3 kit. http://www.missing-lynx.com/reviews/usa/dragonm4a3_fdesisto.html I made no attempt to correct anything on the kit and the subject it totally made up, this was just an...

    The Scrap Buggy

This is a scratch building exercise I'm doing. We have a interactive classroom at Modelers Alliance and scratch building is one of the topics right now. http://www.modelersalliance.com/forum/scratch-build Here's what I got. These things are used to haul the scrap tubing we make to the trash...

And calling this one done. I really need to work on chipping and oil stains. Seeing how you can't see either I think i failed on that. Did a simple dot filter over the wings, don't know if you can tell that at all. I really need to get all these steps done on one kit and maybe I can...

Tamiya 1/32 P-51D Mustang... yep, another thread

Face be careful how far those ignition wires are hanging out, they could interfere with the alignment of the cowls.

    KG500's Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire Mk1xc

REally nice work! I do not understand why Tamiya doesn't supply the top ignition harness on the merlin, neither the Spit or the Mustang have it and it's so prominent. Nice paint job! 8)

    Tamiya 1:32 Mustang

Airframe Aluminum would not require a glossy base but it would make it look nice. You can alternate the color of the base to give variations of the panels, even Flat vers Gloss would give you neat variants. Acrylic or Enamel as long as you give it a good curing time. I'd say at least a couple of...

    Tamiya 1:32 Mustang

Yes, throughly wash ALL PARTS!! :-X I think that was my biggest problem with the masking accidents, there was some impurity on the surface of the plastic. What AlcladII product do you have? If it's one of the High Shine ones remember it only works with a glossy base, preferably black. And the...

At risk of running this thread off topic, may I ask, why decant can paint? I can see doing this if a specific color is not available in a bottle but other than that, i'm at a loss.

I"m sorry I wasn't clear, the aft holes are on both sides, it's the sump drain hole on the cowl i'm not sure about. Doesn't matter, looking good, always neat to try new things. 8)

The hole in the engine cowl is for oil sump drainage. The Baron is spot on about the aft holes. Not sure about the MkI but I don't think the holes are on both sides of the cowl. Looking great!

    Airfix Spitfire OOB

Found it at Spruebrothers... ;D Seriously...It was not bad at all. The cockpit is very spartan but with it closed up you can't see anything down in there anyway. No flash, no fit issues. I thkn there was a spot aft of where the wing assembled meets the fus that may require some fudging but...

Well here's where we start this afternoon. After a night of drying time port wing still looks too thick. Starboard not so bad.
