Cheap airbrushes are a nightmare—and I don't mean just the inexpensive ones.

Rattle cans are likely to expose you to more noxious chemicals than an airbrush—if you chose the right paints.

HOWEVER: Your point is well taken: life is stressful enough without a stressful part of an otherwise relaxing hobby; and you do good work with rattle cans. If that's what it takes to increase happiness and reduce stress, go with it.
 
I worked in industry for 42 years, metal fab shops. I know all about safety, respirators , masks, eye and ear protection AKA PPE. I also know a mask can do more damage than good as it is NOT a respirator! I had a real air brush after the Testors nightmare. My son was an auto body technician and excellent air brush artist. I am me and not him and have zero interest in fiddlling with teeny tiny parts and want to be more laid back. Like I said modeling has been my hobby since 1963, I REFUSE to stress my self out with an air brush or make a business out of my relaxing hobby.

I got bored waiting for decals to arrive so I started installing the landing gear. They went on OK with the worse part being the 3 small doors that attach to the outside of the main landing gear legs. The instructions are not very helpful as to where and how they attach. Next time if I do one I will build the doors 3 pieces first then paint them. I still need to do the streaking on the burnt rear fuselage section before I decal it. The way I do things has no rhyme or reason so don't even try to figure my system of model building out, there is none.

When I build a jet, the first thing I do is fill the nose with lead shot and white glue. That way it gets solid while I build the model. In this case however, I would find a way to get the weight in but for me I always add weight to an aircraft with tricycle landing gear. Better safe than sorry.
