Well I'm impressed initially. Light weight with either a headband or stems, the led lights can be independently on or off with a good brightness and coloured lenses if white light gives too much glare. Eyepiece and light positions can be changed and are again independent so could be used with different lens for either eye if you want. Choice of lenses is very good with combinations to get insane magnification.

I will update the review after a few weeks of use to see if they really are as good as they seem. Pantherman

So having used these a few times on the old PE........ absolutely brilliant. They give great magnification and clarity to the smallest of parts, really makes those fiddley bits that previously I gave up on a walk in the park.

My PE fetish has just jumped into another level, I'm so hooked and these glasses are going to make it alot of fun.

Not sure if I have mentioned this before but I can only see with my left eye. Maybe I should ask for a 50% refund on the glasses........ 🤭🤭🤭. Pantherman

Well you have a back up.

Now I only been modeling for a couple years and I'm always getting better which means you might need specialized tools. I'm quite sure lots of people know about this place but for the people that don't? I was looking for a battery operated mini sander. I found this site. Man they got everything

Is the sander any good? I tried making one out of a cheap electric toothbrush. Not happy with its performance.

I still haven't received that sander yet. Can you believe it? I have a question for everyone. I'm going through the hobbyist Haven inventory and looking at PE tools. Quite a few to choose from. I do have the u-star vice which I think is excellent but I am going to be needing new tools I think in the future if I get into it more. I'm thinking there's got to be at least four tools that you should have. So I'm asking people like Panther man what do you guys recommend to really get your PE bending right?

I cut notches and rounds into a spare door hinge I had laying around. Fold flap A over Flap B with the PE between, and bend away. Sorry, but Dspaie gets none of my money. I do appreciate their ideas for cheap stuff I make myself.

It's not a tool per say, but a square of glass with black card underneath makes cutting PE from the sprue with a sharp knife so much easier, and the flat glass keeps the part from bending with the force of the knife.

Hey I never thought of a door hinge. I got a ton of them out in the garage from working years ago. And yes I do hear you about some places getting none of my money. But, sometimes you get lucky and it's well made and last forever. I bought a cheap set of forstner bits a long time ago at Harbor Freight. Came in a wood box. A whole set of them. I still have them. Sharp as hell. Came in that cool box that's indestructible. 40 years later I still got them. We could talk more about this crap but I don't want to open that door

These are my main use mostly items when I'm in full PE mode.

Small white tile for cutting with sharp blade, extra time ca for initial fixing then extra thin CA for final fitting to model (the following day).

Tamiya long nose pliers and a cheap wide mouth pliers for holding PE ready to bend. I use Tamiya tape on the jaws to protect the PE.

Diamond PE file and a homemade glue needle (used an old paintbrush and wife's sowing needle) and a fibre glass pen to rub off any excess CA from the model.

Almost forgot the wax pencil for picking up and placing PE in place.

A few photos of my general PE kit.

Thank you for all that. There's a couple interesting items in there that I need. One of them a fiber glass pen? I'll look that up but never heard of it. Thanks again Panther man! Your Slice of Heaven is looking good!

No problem. Just ask away if you want any more info.

Lot's of great modellers here with far more knowledge than I. PM

I picked this up a few weeks ago. Initially I wasn't happy because you have to hold the paint bottles in place while it shakes it. Eventually I'll make a holder as that rubber grommet (?) comes off and there is a brass fitting I could screw an attachment to. Anyway I really like this shaker now. It does a good job and is faster than me flailing my arm about! It was pricey tho.
I have been using one of these for quite a few years now. I wouldn't be without it.

This thing makes mincemeat of PE!

I can bend the crap out of PE with this.

Okay gents, the sander came in finally. I will check it out and let you know if I like it but so far it feels really good in your hand and I mean like it belongs there. Also some epoxy putty came in today that I ordered believe it or not, yesterday evening. You got to like the internet for getting stuff that's never in the damn hobby stores. But I still tell my wife when I open up a box and all that's in it is a pack of dog biscuits and a chew toy. I'm looking her and I say man you know this is really lazy Pet Smart is 2 miles away and I can walk to Fry's. Although this is Phoenix and this time of the day I'm not walking nowhere.

Andy's didn't have putty? The two I go to always have it. Also, have you ever checked out hobby depot in Tempe? It's off Mesa Dr just north of the 60. It's a small shop but it may be closer for you. He gets some interesting kits in.

Andy's Warehouse seem to be out of a lot of things. And he says it's something going on in Japan. And Andy's I usually go to on Greenway is never stocked up and and I always wonder why the hell I went there. Hobby Bench is working out pretty good for me right now. And I never go to Tempe unless you force me. Most of my life it seems all I do is drive. Drive drive drive drive drive. I'm done with that crap

I find driving in Phoenix relaxes me.

What is "black card"?
