I keep a range of Model Color and Tamiya on hand for small detail work. I can generally mix what I want for a small piece.Until you need to brush-paint something with the same colour![]()
That's what I've done. I use MRP. It's dry to the touch in minutes and I can mask with low tack in 30 min and Tamiya tape in a couple hours. If a spray booth with outdoor venting is available, use lacquer and live a happy life.
I've only used MRP paint twice (the same bottle both times), and it's thin as water straight from the bottle: just pour it into the airbrush and spray. I cleaned it out of my airbrush with hardware store toluene-based paint thinner, which seems to have worked fine. Unlike the Mr. Color lacquer paint I tried, this one sprayed just fine. My main issue with it is the need for strong solvents, which is why I prefer to stick to water- and alcohol-based acrylics instead of lacquer-based ones.I did not see a thinner.
Ditto. No need to give the liver and other organs more work.My main issue with it is the need for strong solvents, which is why I prefer to stick to water- and alcohol-based acrylics instead of lacquer-based ones.

I have a veritable pharmacopeia. That's why I don't want to make more work for the chemical processors in my body. As my cardiologist says, "Growing old is not for the faint of heart."I hope you don't take any medications.
Yep, and I understand your situation, my heart is fine, my lungs are stuffed, I have COPD. My lung specialist tells me no models, too many toxic fumes, they are killing you. Yeah so be it, at least I'll die happy, doing something I love doing.I have a veritable pharmacopeia. That's why I don't want to make more work for the chemical processors in my body. Get a good, outside vented spray booth, and keep building longer.Yep, and I understand your situation, my heart is fine, my lungs are stuffed, I have COPD.
