I use a laboratory vortex mixer, the are expensive, much more so than the flimsy shakers produced for model paints but it works really well and has lasted me years. Worth spending the extra dosh for a heavy duty one.

I do not have that one, but the genre is what I meant earlier, the type used by tattoo artists, more of a vibrator than a shaker. I think it works great without the bubbles or froth.
