This is my second Trumpeter 132nd airplane. I thought it was just me at first then I realized. That ain't so. These details are thin. Is it just me? Or do you have to be just super careful, super perfect placement and everything has to be going absolutely perfectly so that you don't mess up that decal when you lay it down. I'm here to tell you I grabbed a few decals and crumpled them up. They were either folded over in half or a piece broke or it tore. Is it just me? I also have to say. If you do manage to get one on they lay down really good but to get to that point is a p i m a

HI Rob yes i had this problem on my big 1/32 super tomcat as the black an yellow bar decall that goes down the fusealarge near the coptit all just broke up but i mandged to get half of it on an the i painted the rest of the decal an it dint come out too bad an looked acceptable but thankfully the big jolly roger skull an bones came off the backin paper just great on both tail veticals so i give them trumpy deacals about 7 out of 10

I never use Trumpeter decals for these reasons. I always buy aftermarket decals or better still, particularly in 1/32 paint masks to paint the markings. I do this for all Trumpeter, HobbyBoss and even Tamiya by default.

YES Barry ive seen your masks for decals an you painting them decals on an they look brilliant very well done sir as thats how they do the real planes so hats off to you sir

I agree with Boatman. I've seen also. I just don't think I have that level of dedication but Barry's work is impressive. Maybe if I had the stencils I would probably give it a go. But like everything else you get better with experience. In one day of working with those stupid decals, I found ways of dealing with it. I have a really fluffy paintbrush probably used for mascara Maybe but it's really soft and holds a lot of water. So I get it wet and hold it above the decal and the water gets underneath and you can move around and position the decal with a toothpick with a blob of blue tack on the end

Now that I've worked with these Trumpeter decals for a few days you get used to them. You learn tricks I guess because I have to admit as thin as these are and easy to mess up they do lay down beautifully. Like you painted it on.

Thank you my friend. What do they say? Necessity is the mother of invention? We'll figure out a way to get it done. If we mess it up? We will figure out a way to throw some mud around the place and you won't see it:)
