The great pink Spitfire challenge

I'm trying chipping with the chipping solution I applied (first time trying a solution).
Is this looking OK any advice is welcomed.
Looks good to me. Can you post a photo of the solution, might give it a go just to compare it with my current method. Pantherman Pinky

Preliminary chipping. I'll hilight with the sponge (SpongeBob) after I assemble the radiators and gear.

So forgive my ignorance but is your chipping applied on top of the paint or before you top coat and scraped back after like mask?

No problem, brother.
I applied my paint too soon in the build forgetting the aluminum coat.
1st apply the undercoat, in this case aluminum. Allow to dry.
Apply 2 to 3 coats of the chipping solution. After that's dry, (I waited a day because I was busy.)
Apply your color coat.
I found that using a Q-tip (cotton bud) dampened with water to the surface just to slight dampening the paint. I waited a moment and began chipping and scrtaching. I used a toothpick (cocktail stick), pointed tweezers, and occasionally an old airbrush needle.
thats what seemed to work for me.

I've attached the directions from the bottle as I'm not the greatest of explaining. :p
I ordered this from Amazon.

Many thanks Gary, another amazon order to add to my account. Definitely going to have a go with it. Might just add a cheap tank to the order so that I can practice on it. Pantherman

You're most welcome.
I used a price of styrene. But a tank would be way funner!

My next project is trying to recreate my wife's grandfather's farm/ranch Chevy. It is an AMT brand and a old model.
Upon inspecting the parts there is so much flash. That, in itself, is going to be a job. The steering wheel was wrecked and warped. Luckily I have a 50's model Chevy Sun Crusier which I will use that steering wheel.
The plastic is heavier and seemingly brittle than today's models.
I estimate this model could take a month or so to complete.

I never got to meet him. He died before I met Christi. But, he was s a through-and-through real cowboy from Waco Texas.

I have pics posted in the automotive link on this forum.

I have been following you on automotive. Nice to build something with an attachment to you or your family. Pantherman

Trying a risky move on my part. Invasion stripes.
I really hope I don't mess this up

I've been waiting for my razor saw to get here so I can cut out that little notch in the aileron. But the delivery has been pushed back. It was supposed to already be here.
Maybe it will be here soon.

I cannot do to much about it. I'm at work right now.
Then the weekend I'll be working in from 7.00am to 10.00pm both Sat and Sun. 27 hours in 2 days. Hoping the heat will keep people inside.
I'm looking forward to getting back to working on that pinky.
Pinky and the Brain. Lol
I loved Pinky and The Brain.

My first attempt at painting invasion stripes. Could be better though. But they're not too bad.

Home stretch. But, still so much to do with weathering and decals, and touch-ups.

GEG, your invasion stripes look good. Best part about those is that there are plenty of examples that weren't perfect in real life so it gives some leeway on how they look.
