Pink is so yesterday. Red is today !!

Thays true! :D
I remember you mentioning you're a carpenter.
I'll hire you to build an awesome display cabinet for me. Lol :p:D
Join the queue. I have some grand plans for mine but I will probably never get round to it unfortunately. Pantherman

So first on my agenda is the prop. I have never done a wood grain of any kind, so this will be a challenge. A good brown for the base.

Second up is the red. We all know there isnt just one shade of ANY color. So after research, I found that the red for his all red plane was best achieved by a mix of Insignia red and brown in an 8;2 ratio. So I mixed some up and this is the first coat. Only problem, I used up what I mixed but it wasnt enough for all the parts. And of course I didnt do EXACTLY 8:2. So I need to mix a good bit more and go from there.

I got the landing wheels on. Getting the struts to line was a real game - 3 tries for a dime (2 pence).:p
Gluing the stabilizing wires on is messy for me. I know they look like poop! I'll probably improve with practice.
I thought it fitting to use a 1917 one cent coin, the things it must have bought, at least until 35 years ago... wow. That made me feel old.
Anyway I thought it fitting since the Great War was going on then.

Oy. That is a standard toothpick in the pic. Even in 1/32, nothing about this kit is big. It took me about an hour to assemble that gun and the barrel for the other.

The barrel has 5 parts. The body of the gun has 2 parts. The mechanism on the side of the gun has 6 parts. And there are two parts to the ammo belt that have to go on yet. I took a break before doing the other gun.

The guys that do 1/700 ships with PE are flipping NUTS! LOL

And when it's painted and fitted under the tiny wing's you can really appreciate all the extra work............. can't you !!!!!

Sometimes you have to say why on earth do we bother. But it's fun, right. Pantherman

I made a huge mistake. I grabbed Mr. Cement instead of Mr. Softer. This is the result, a "gouge" in the decal.
Should I leave it as weathering or repair it?

That looks really great, and the plane is OK as well............. honestly, it's a great job. Think I would just cover the decal opps with several thinned coats of black until it matches the decal colour. Pantherman
Thanks
I agree, it should be repaired. Alright then. I'll take care of that.

Well I have got 2 coats of the red on now so I can start putting it all together over the weekend hopefully.

Not too sure about the red colour yet, hopefully it will look better with the gloss coats over it maybe?
