I thought about that too but with proper PPE and good ventilation it shouldn't be a problem.

I received a little extra cash from work so I took the plunge and ordered a new Saturn 4 Ultra 16K 3D printer bundle.

At some point, a glass file ended up on my bench, think it was a 'bonus' that came along with another order.
Today, faced with doing the windows, which I dread for several reasons, one of them being cleanly removing them from the sprue.
...so I googlified it, and in a Reddit post, the guy says "use a glass file". BINGO!
...not bad! The last photo shows another issue, the refracted light from the middle as-yet-not-removed nub on the other side!
EDIT: the first cut was with a micro razor saw to avoid those nasty compression fractures!

Those glass files are really good for smoothing plastic. I have a Meng one too, the small type, but these were apparently originally made as nail files, which you can buy as well.
Here's a side-by-side comparison:
On the left (of the photo — that is, the right side of the car
) there's a matt, scratched area where I filed a part of the front wing of this 1970s Formula 1 car away, on the right I did the same but then filed it smooth with the glass file that's also in the photo.

... shoulda known, Flamenco guitarist wannabe-me, nail care was always top of mind. And there was a time when acrylic treatment of my strumming nails was the only way to keep them from disappearing in a pile of dust under the strings! Twenty years later, picking it up again, my nails seem much tougher with age!

How did the ultrasonic cutter work out? What material did you try it on? How thick of a piece of sheet styrene will it cut?

Thank you! Yes, it was my first ever aircraft build. I liked it so much I have 3 more planes in the stash now haha. But at least now I can focus on the cargo truck!

Gotta say again, loving these sticky mats! Building a Pioneer tool carrier there are many teeny PE parts. I would never have cut, prepped and folded this many without the mat!
The carpet monster would've eaten half of them!

After tweaking my back in OCT, I've finally been able to bend over and continue doing the rivet work on my 1/10 scale Blue Thunder tail fin.

how did I tweak my back? Working on my truck, fighting a seized bolt with a breaker bar.
I did get the bolt off, but it cost me lol.

Move house, it will be easier.Modelling-wise, I'm working on improving my modelling room by re-arranging where I keep my paints. Which lead to re-arranging another corner as well, and once that's done I will re-arrange another part because stuff that's there now will go into the re-arranged corner

I just got myself an ultrasonic thingy me bob.
I use it for moped parts, never thought of plastic.
What do you use in it ?

That depends on what your cleaning, for metal or plastic like 3d printed parts warm water and a drop or two of dish soap, a little 91% alcohol is ok to if the plastic can take it. Never put a gemstone in it, they all have mineral inclusions that will get larger or break the stone.
Like @RacerX said. I also put my kit sprues through a 'rinse' cycle after cleaning, then air dry.
Also great for pen nibs, haven't tried hanging brush tips in there yet.
Of course, gold rings, chains and silverware to keep 'you know who' happy!
