I am going to have to stop building models.

(Ha, bet I got you)

I have been looking for a house for 8 years and it finally looks like I am going to be getting one. The seller has accepted my offer and now its processing the paperwork. So if the building inspection goes though, I will be moving in at the beginning of October.

I do hope everything goes through without a problem, the house has 2 huge sheds that have electricity run to them and one of them is perfect for a model workshop.

I should be able to finish up my current projects, but I won't be starting any more until I am moved in and everything is set up.

Congratulations!! The "Ultimate Man Cave!" I hope it all works out. I had to do the opposite of you in my retirement, I had to downsize everything, too much stuff! I did build a concentrated building area for models but still miss lots of shelves and drawers!
Share some pictures of the new "Domain" once it's complete.

We will need photos of the new man cave. Hope it all goes smoothly. Pantherman

I have the opposite problem. It was just me and my daughter for several years, then Mom moved in with me after Dad passed, then my brother moved in after his wife kicked him out and divorced him (not his fault she just screamed at him one day and kicked him out)

And thanks everyone. All the paperwork is processing right now and we are waiting on a building inspection.

Congratulations and Good Luck! This next 4-6 weeks is going to be some of the most stressful times of your life, WHATEVER you do, do NOT take your eyes(or mind) off the end goal! Stay in your lane, keep a steady foot on the throttle, do what YOUR realtor/lawyer says, as soon as you can(delays are something YOU want to try and avoid jf at all possible… Use this time WISELY! Think HARD about ANY changes you want to make to the home AND your ManCave/Modeling area. It's easiest to make those changes while the place is empty…
Enjoy your new home and the memories you will make with your daughter and family. Look forward to pictures of it, the Model Room For Sure! Good Luck, You Got This

Well I'm not getting the house. Someone came in and out bid us. It wasn't that hard, I refused to go up. The seller used that 30 day closing period to cancel our offer and accept the higher one.

Cool, I never stopped looking so on Monday there are 2 more houses I'm going to look at and one of them looks very promising.

I believe that all things in life happen for a reason, kinda fate taking charge if you like. I hope that what you find, or it finds you, will be just what you need and want. Good luck. Pantherman

And THAT is ********! Once an offer and the deposit is accepted, they shouldn't be able to back out unless they match back the deposit paid, ie; you put down $10k, they give you back the $10k plus $10k. If you tried to walk away, they would get YOUR deposit unless the house failed 1 of the contract stips…
On the plus side, you at least sound positive still, which I'm sure to an extent, is a bit of a show. I'd be ballistic. I've watched it happen to too many friends and I'm just sick of it. If the seller didn't like the offer, don't accept it! Sorry, thought I was done ranting… Keep your chin up, that just wasn't the home for your daughter to make her memories in. But it's coming, for BOTH of you

Well you didn't hear me blister the air when I found out. the language was bad enough for a Marine to say "hey watch the language, we got Navy here"
So by the time I posted here I had calmed down a bit. And I am a person that believes things happen for a reason. The house that is meant for us is out there and we'll find it.

Sorry to hear that WJ, that's a bummer. I'm surprised there's still bidding wars, the market is getting wobbly, close to a serious dump. Maybe this will work out for the best and you'll get into a really nice place at way less than you expected.

When you do finally get settled, it's gonna be goooood!
