Hey guys. Just joined today.
I thought i'd post this. It's in the final stages, but i thought there might be one or two of you guys who would like to see it(And haven't seen it before on the RI).
Basically, there is a kit available from Forgewoorld of the Arvus lighter dropship. It's a great design, but a little small for my liking, so i gathered all the reference i could and decided to scale it up to 1/20 so i could use my Ma.K figures with it.
I will post four of the most recent images(As per the board guidelines for pictures), and one youtube video, and i will invite anyone with an interest to browse my Arvus build gallery on photobucket so you can see the progression from basic shape to where it is now. The ship is a complete scratchbuild. There are only three pieces which were "found" items. The intake is a heavily altered HASBRO ARC-170 intake, the exhaust is the bottom 3" of the Pegasus Apollo 27(Again, heavily altered), and the dashboard is from the Hasegawa Falke(Drilled to be lit from behind). The full story can be found in the images hopefully, but i'd welcome questions if anyone has any.
Gallery is here if you want to trawl the pics and see the steps i took.
Enough talk. Here are the pics(And one vid).
Enjoy!

Thanks Scott.
Believe it or not, the lighting actually came about because of this image here. When i took that i realised that no matter how i painted the craft, interior pictures would always look rubbish without lighting. So i had to work out a way to fit the lights in the ship. I also didn't want the LEDs to "look like LEDs". So i made a test light cage, made more of them, and got them hooked up. I knew i was on the right track when they were added to the roof.
The nav system was a logical extension from the other system, as i wanted to really hit the ball out of the park. It was fairly complicated in the end, but the systems are hidden in the hollow engine tubes.
Another video showing the interior here(And showing the engine lighting systems too):

That looks really good
And that interior is amazing

;D Barry "B" love those interior bulkheads
with the circles cut out and the lighting is perfect,
it looks like a working machine even gives off that feeling!

Really cool. I like the way it's lit. It has 'atmosphere'. Very interesting build.

Thanks. It's actually quite an interesting model to behold, especially with the lights turned on.

Coolest thing I've seen in a while. Love to see people with the courage to tackle stuff like this ('cause I sure don't :) ).

This is really cool. Love it!
As everybody have already mentioned lighting I'd like to give some special credit to the paintsceme. Looks very nice, man! Great job!

Thanks. I love the cat pic. Is the cat yours?

Yes it is. I caught him just right. I have another one I have been thinking of changing my icon to.

Hi,
and that is very impressive!!!
When I saw the close up of the interior picture, I thought it was of some full scale vehicle.
Great job.....and mostly scratch-built as well!!!!!
;D

Thanks. Other than the intakes and exhaust(Which started off looking very different), it's ALL scratchbuilt...

No need for just links here. You can post pics, no problem.

The only image thing is with attachments, but externally hosting pics...post as many as you like.

Ahhhh... I thought the wording was no more than four inline images per post...
I shall edit the post then.
Come to think of it... Is there a way to edit posts???
Here are the pics inline:

Yes.

There is a time limit though and the edit button will expire after a certain amount of time has passed.

If there is something pressing that you would like addressed let a staff member know, otherwise just do what you have done here and make a new post. We like photos. ;D
