I'm leaning toward a 1/350 Missouri purchase, but am asking for some help.

In your opinion(s), is one maker's kit better than other's? I see Tamiya, Hobby Boss, Revell, and VeryFine (my current "lean-toward"), and there may be others. Heck, these all may be the same kit with different boxes, for all I know.

To follow that, what are opinions on detail sets? Again, there is more than one. However, that Pontos set, at $300, seems ridiculous. If I get the Very Fire kit, the only detail set shown specifically for it is from China.

Lastly, the kits I've seen are most often 1991 versions. Does anyone know what would be needed to revert back to the WWII era?

Any and all wisdom will be appreciated.

I do see the whole bunch. I'm pretty certain I'll go with the Very Fine, though I don't see much aftermarket for that kit.

Anyone with input on whether a WWII bridge designed for a Tamiya fits other company kit?

Decisions, decisions.
