Still trying to figure out what to do with this mess.

Monogram offers a 1/48 Dragonfly if you want an alertantive. As for Trumpter, I bought a Mobius re-release of their Monte Carlo and the wheels are almost completely out of scale. Noticed a few other issues as well. Their kits are not always as promising as they seem.

I've usually have good luck with Trumpeter kits but this one was bad. It started with the intakes and exhaust not fitting properly, then trying to marry the fuselage to the wings was a nightmare.
My first Trumpeter kit was a 1/24 bf109. I had a difficult time with it and swore off Trumpeter. A few months later I realized it was likely me, since I was just starting this hobby, tried another trumpeter kit and loved it. I'm sure they have some dogs but they all do.

There is plenty of reference material on both kits. The Monogram seems to have more written posts, but the Trumpeter has more youtube videos. From what I have read, both kits are "tail-sitters" and need weight added to nose. Best of luck with the build, and I will be following your thread when you post it because I have one of these in my stash along with a Black Box cockpit for it.
