Thankfully not overdoneDid some chipping
IRL, those are often a bit semi-gloss, because they're made of green nylon.I'd look at some matt paint on the duffels and packs
D'oh! Of course! I only ever look at 1930s and 40s canvas and cotton...green nylon
Yup, the great thing about this hobby: we are each on a continuum, learning as we go, new challenges with every build...next time.
In my opinion, for nearly all vehicles, any chipping is too muchI kind of think I even did too much.
Actual missing paint seems to be mostly scratches on the side skirts, from driving too close to hard, sharp terrain features, and the paint getting thin on the fibreglass of the bore evacuator. Judging by the taillight guard, there may also be worn paint on the engine deck, but that's impossible to say from here. The dark band near the bottom of the turret is where the strip with laser sensor for the fire simulation system was once attached. It could be that removing it also took off paint there, but I get the impression that what's visible is dirt stuck in the remains of the glue that held the strip to the tank. Everything else looks to me like it's mostly dirt, oil, soot and/or rust.Hmmmm, active Abrams looking kinda chipped....and rusty?

Nice job!!This is my first full attempt at weathering armor. Got all the ideas from you tube. Let me know what you think or I could improve on. Did some chipping and used oils to add streaking and dust and dirt effects. Thanks
