Tamiya 1:35 Cromwell

FUBAR ,

Excellant 1st go at th P.E. ..... Did ya have to pick th tiniest pieces to work with 1st ? ;D

Spud is on Target ! I Highly Recommend an Opti-Visor ! I just use th stock 10x that came with it. You'd be surprised what you can see & how well it "tunes-up" your modeling !

;D ;D  , Sorry you got some Coffee spilled on your Keyboard !

Hey ! You mentioned your lil' spills of CA .... I have something you may want to check into . I use the Micro-Brush. There are a few different sizes. I use th White ones. They are th smallest & look like lil' pipe cleaners. They are Awesome at soaking up X-cess CA ! You can find 'em at th Hobby Store ... but if you go to th source ... you can get a canister of 100 for CHEAP !!

http://www.amazon.com/MICRO-BRUSH-SUPER-FINE-WHITE/dp/B000HVPGBA - a Box of 100 for $18. ( USD) consider that you get 10in a package at th Hobby Store for $2.25 !! They also have a couple of other sizes too .

LMFAO i bet that drives the ladies crazy when you hit the town lookin' like that. ;D 8)

Smallest PE! Oh noes theres smaller than that still to come ::)

OK the UK Amazon sells these....

But i cant find one that comes with 10x zoom!! They all seem to be around 2.5x or 3.5x and they aint cheap neither :(

ATM i'm using a magnifier glass which is ok but casts lots of shadows around, i'm just waiting for the sun to come out and burn a hole thru the desk with it :p

That's a lot of work on this OLD Cromwell ! Glad you are pushing the envelope.... those Resin parts look pretty cool with all the Cam Netting already on them....

might be a challenge when painting comes around ?

Will be checking your progress.... good luck !

and keep up the good work !

Oh ! make sure to rest your eyes... from time to time... and look around your room at different focus length ! I screwed up my vision by waring that magnifier helmet ... . for too long !

Not kidding !

@schweinhund227 Thanks mate, yeah i know about eye strain....i've been in micro electronics for over 20 years and it certainly puts a strain on the 'old peepers'. I take a break every 30 mins or so atm because i'm lacking the correct vision gear at home. ::)

Small update.

Finished the rear plate of the tanks hull, all the PE is formed and fitted. It took a good afternoon's work but i was deffinatly getting quicker at the PE towards the end. I'm quite pleased with the end results, and when you compare the PE parts to the kits styrene parts theres no comparison.....

Problem for the future tho i just spotted....the hulls front upper plate is a moded part of the upper hull yet the resin part i have is a separate piece that also includes the lower half. This means a little surgery in the near future. ::)

Now let me at that PE.

I'll spare you from having to see a picture of me wearing the hat. :p ;D ;) :)

Fubar,

I Think Mr. Panzer Ace is referring to a #10, which is 3.5 magnification. You can find them cheaper than the one you posted. Try ebay. I have found some good prices there for the optivisors.

Nice start on the PE work. Looks like your getting the hang of it.

Hey Fubar that Crommy is looking real good there. :D This thread has some great info be passed around; I’ll have to give it a re-read here. It will be neat to see the Black Dog goodies on there. Can’t wait to see more on this! :)
