Aside from using BMF, which I still struggle with getting clean cuts, I found this on Amazon recently and wanted to give it a try. Fusion Firm Chrome
Wow, this stuff is even better than Molotow (imo) and is VERY easy to apply, right out of the bottle with minimal prep.
It comes with an applicator brush inside and I put a single coat onto the bare plastic valve covers. The finish is impressive and I think I should've ensured the parts were completely clean, but for a brush chrome, this works very well.
The instructions say to apply, let set, apply additional coats if desired and allow 72 hours to dry, then apply the included lacquer. I applied a single coat this morning to the 1/25th scale 427 Valve covers, (which were cast in black) and will follow up with photos of the lacquer application, but this worked great.
